The Rapenburg Race is an annual swimming competition that raises money for a good cause: improving the quality of life of people with a spinal cord injury. Every year hundreds of people swim 800 meters through the most beautiful canal in the city. Last year we raised no less than 112,500 euros!
The finish is at the KOG on the Steenschuur, where there is live music, food, drinks, and lots of fun all day long. Every year we hold a pitch day before the race at which several projects from various rehabilitation and research institutes are presented. We select a few from these projects for which we will raise money that year. This year these are the projects of the University Neurosurgical Center Holland (UNCH), the Sint Maartenskliniek and Project MARCH.
We divide the money we raise from the race among the projects of various rehabilitation and research institutes that we selected during the pitch day.
